Why is it important to protect your children from UVA and UVB?

Children's eyes are very sensitive to UV rays and therefore their protection needs to be given special attention. In children under one year of age, the cornea and especially the lens are still underdeveloped to protect the retina. It is at this age that 90% of UVA and 50% of UVB can pass to the retina and cause damage to the eye. The lens develops until the child is 12 years old.
