It's a totally versatile cloth diaper! The waterproof pocket is lined with bamboo terry, which has excellent instant absorbency - it can handle even a sharp stream of urine (especially for boys this is a win), everything is immediately absorbed, nothing runs off the surface of the bamboo terry.
It's not just a "nappy for show", you can rely on it even at night! (For older babies, you will just need to add absorbent layers to the diaper pocket).
The insertable diaper replicates the DUO shaped insertable diapers from our AI2 diaper system. One side is Stay-Dry, the other side is bamboo. If you want your baby to feel comfortable in dryness, do not put the insert diaper inside the pocket, but pin the insert diaper so that the insert diaper is laid ON the pocket, with the Stay-Dry layer against the baby's skin.
OUR TIP: Stay-Dry touch layer is recommended for newborns or larger babies for sleep, longer car journeys, etc., or for babies whose skin is sensitive to moisture.
The pocket diaper dries quickly! If you've ever used a truly all-in-one, All-in-One cloth diaper, you know that multiple absorbent layers sewn together take forever to dry. The dryer will not help you in such a case, the waterproof layer of the diaper must not enter it. With the Bamboolik pocket diaper, there is no long drying time - the absorbent layer can be dried in the dryer, and the pocket itself dries in a few hours.
Thanks to our years of experience in sewing nappies, the pocket nappy has a perfect fit - it's simply bulletproof :) The insert diaper has a practical cut too - we have widened the back of the diaper so that it follows the shape of the baby's bottom perfectly (if you use the Stay-Dry insert diaper with the layer on top, it means the whole bottom is dry).
You can always add an absorbent layer to the diaper pocket if needed. One of our AI2 DUO system's insertable diapers, a folded square diaper... whatever you have on hand.
In addition to ease of use, the pocket diaper has an added benefit - it creates a small and slim diaper package, no "bundle" on the bum! A properly fitted diaper allows the baby to move freely at the hips, which is extremely important for proper psychomotor development.
