WHAT DOES FLO MENSTRUCTIVE INSERTS CONTAIN?

The hypoallergenic receiving and filtering layer is made of 100% organic bamboo and GMO-free corn fibers.

The absorbent core and the absorbent layer are made of airlaid paper made of non-woven fabric made of vegetable cellulose with a minimum amount of absorbent gel (SAP = super absorbent powders), which is not in direct contact with the skin.

The impermeable barrier is a polylactic acid (PLA) film. The layer is 100% degradable.

The adhesive layer of the ailerons is made of latex-free hot-melt vegan glue.

WHY DOES THE MANUFACTURER USE SAP FLO ABSORPTION GEL IN MENSTRUCTION INSERTS?

As in many ecological diapers, the manufacturer adds a minimum amount of absorbent gel = polyacrylic absorbents (SAP = super absorbent powders) in the form of powder to FLO menstrual pads in a maximum amount of 0.5 - 0.55 grams per pad (depending on the type ). Compared to organic diapers, where SAP is used in a volume of 4-10 grams (depending on the size) per diaper, the content of SAP in FLO menstrual pads is very minimal.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF USING SAP ABSORPTION GEL IN FLO MENSTRUCTION INSERTS?

The SAP absorbent gel increases the absorbency of the pads by up to 30 times, which contributes to reducing pulp consumption (the pad is thinner) and reduces the frequency of replacement. The consumption of pads that do not contain any absorbent gel is significantly higher than the consumption of pads with absorbent gel. From this point of view, the SAP absorbent gel is environmentally friendly because it reduces the amount of waste resulting.

The SAP absorbent gel is a non-toxic and safe gel absorber that is not in direct contact with the skin of FLO sanitary napkins. The SAP absorbent gel used in FLO sanitary napkins is of high quality and is made in Japan.

By using a small amount of SAP absorbent gel in FLO pads, the manufacturer is able to ensure high absorbency, impermeability and maximum efficiency of these pads, as is the case with conventional disposable disposable pads on the market.

HOW ABOUT DEGRADABILITY?

Did you know that every woman consumes up to 11,000 pads and tampons with a total weight of 130 kg during the fertile period of her life?

FLO menstrual pads offer women a simple and comfortable transition from conventional synthetic menstrual pads to ecological pads, which are more than 93% biodegradable and provide comparable effectiveness.

Conventional synthetic pads decompose for 200 to 400 years, while ecological FLO pads decompose significantly faster.

The bags of the individual inserts are made of 100% biodegradable and compostable material from vegetable starch, polylactic acid (PLA) and polybutyrate-adipate terephthalate (PBAT).

The boxes are made of FSC-certified paper.

WHY ORGANIC BAMBOO IS BETTER MATERIAL THAN BIO BOTTON?

Bamboo is more environmentally friendly, does not require irrigation like organic cotton, and when grown, it consumes 1/3 less water and can absorb extremely high levels of carbon dioxide.

Bamboo is naturally resistant to insects and pests, while organic cotton is less resistant and as a result is used to process less crops.

Bamboo is almost a renewable plant. There is no need to plant it every year. On the contrary, the planting of organic cotton must be repeated every year. A 4,000 m2 bamboo field produces approximately 10 times more bamboo than organic cotton. Bamboo grows much faster, up to 1.6 meters per day.

Bamboo fiber is softer and more breathable than organic cotton fiber, in addition, it has naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties.

Bamboo fiber has 40% better absorbency than organic cotton fiber.
