Kristýnka is a 6-year-old girl diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

After a failed pregnancy and a complicated birth, she literally fought for her life, severe suffocation caused a number of complications in her development.

She spent the first week in the intensive care unit, where she managed to stabilize thanks to excellent care and was able to be released into her mother's arms. It started a new life not only for her, but also for our whole family. A merry-go-round of examinations, rehabilitation and getting used to a new bundle that needs above-standard care. Týnka has undergone and continues to undergo a large amount of therapy throughout her life, which aims to teach her as much as possible and make her independent. We went to the spa for the first time in the year of her life and she visited it several more times until it was effective and meaningful for her. Fortunately, Kristýnka is a very tenacious and combative little girl who fights every challenge and never stops trying, which is why we embarked on the path of intensive rehabilitation, which unfortunately is not covered by public health insurance. Kristýnka receives physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, which has become a stable part of everyday life. Each of these therapies is paid for from our family budget, as we strive for the maximum effect and satisfaction of our daughter. Thanks to all the regular efforts, Týnka can take a few steps independently at her age, can sit and moves mostly on her knees. He uses pictures to communicate, thanks to which he can tell himself what he needs. She doesn't speak, she knows a few words, but fortunately she understands everything perfectly, and this gives us great hope that as she grows and matures, she will be able to communicate and not be so completely dependent on what someone else decides for her.

However, most of the care, both in terms of time and especially financially, lies with us and our family, as we choose a path that, even at the cost of huge costs, shows the greatest effect for Kristýnka and helps her to fight her handicap wonderfully and step by step to get beyond the limits of one's own capabilities.

This year, we finally managed to try hippotherapy, get to a week-long intensive hipporehabilitation stay at CH MIRÁKL. We drove for the first time with hope, but we had no idea what to expect. What the horses and the people around them gave to Kristýn took our breath away. We have had 2 weeks of stays and Kristýnka has completely reversed the ratio of time spent on crutches, on which she moved most often, and the time she spends actually walking. You can tell how much this therapy infuses her with security, peace and perfectly deepens knowledge of her own body. Therefore, we will try to ensure that she can complete this stay at the recommended intensity 3 times a year.

This September, Týnka starts school, and the whole family is looking forward to seeing how many new things this change will bring!
